A meeting took place at the headquarters of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) Association with a delegation from the Chinese company Jiangsu International Rail Freight Express Co., Ltd. During the meeting, the parties discussed developing cooperation and attracting additional cargo flows to the Trans-Caspian route. The Chinese delegation was led by the company’s General Manager, Xia Jin; representatives of the company’s logistics and supply chain management divisions also participated in the talks.
Representatives from Jiangsu International Rail Freight Express presented the capabilities of Jiangsu Province’s international railway network, which operates under the “Four Directions – Eight Corridors” model. The network comprises 26 regular international routes spanning 26 countries, as well as approximately 80 logistics terminals located along the transport corridors of the Belt and Road Initiative. The company coordinates operations at key logistics hubs in Lianyungang, Xuzhou, Nantong, Suzhou, and Nanjing, facilitating multimodal transport via rail, road, sea, and air.
Particular attention was paid to the potential of the Port of Lianyungang, a member of the TITR Association. The parties noted the opportunity to utilize its infrastructure to establish new logistics chains connecting Japan, South Korea, Central Asian countries, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey, with subsequent cargo delivery to European markets. Following the negotiations, the participants reaffirmed their interest in strengthening the partnership and agreed to continue joint efforts to enhance transport efficiency and increase cargo volumes along the TITR route.
