KTZ has completed the modernization of the Altynkol–Zhetygen section.

JSC “NC ‘Kazakhstan Temir Zholy’” (KTZ) has completed the modernization of the Altynkol–Zhetygen railway section, a move set to significantly boost network capacity and enhance transport efficiency. This project is part of a large-scale program to upgrade and repair over 3,000 km of Kazakhstan’s existing railway infrastructure.

As part of the modernization, five new passing loops were built from scratch, and additional receiving-departure tracks were added at seven existing stations. Furthermore, the work covered 293 km of railway track. KTZ noted that all project stages were completed ahead of schedule.

The project involved a workforce of 188 specialists and 80 units of machinery. KTZ emphasized that the completed modernization will improve infrastructure reliability, increase the line’s throughput capacity, and create new opportunities for the sustainable development of Kazakhstan’s transport corridors.
