Latvian airline AirBaltic and German Lufthansa have announced the expansion of their codeshare agreement. Thus, AirBaltic is adding its code (BT) to six Lufthansa routes from Munich: to Bremen, Cologne/Bonn, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Hannover and Stuttgart. Lufthansa, in turn, continues to use its code (LH) on AirBaltic flights to Munich from Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius.

AirBaltic President Martin Gauss emphasized that the deepening of the partnership will provide passengers with more flexible travel options between Latvia and Germany, as well as other destinations. He noted that Germany remains one of the key markets for AirBaltic, and the new agreement further expands the tourism potential.

As a reminder, the cooperation between AirBaltic and Lufthansa began in 2020. It was previously reported that Lufthansa was considering acquiring AirBaltic shares ahead of the Latvian airline’s IPO.
