Adriafer Rail Services (ARS) has started operating a new intermodal rail shuttle running weekly on the Opicina – Trieste – Gorizia route.
The initiative comes at a time when the Trieste logistics area has been facing congestion, and the new shuttle is intended to reduce pressure on local transport infrastructure by shifting some flows to rail.
ARS, established in 2022, is a subsidiary of Adriafer. The company focuses on rail freight, intermodal logistics, wagon rental, and related services across the Friuli Venezia Giulia region and international corridors connected to the port of Trieste.
