A meeting between the leadership delegations of Azerbaijan Railways (part of AZCON Holding) and Kazakhstan Railways was held in Baku to strengthen railway cooperation between the countries. The parties discussed the dynamics of cooperation in recent years and the role of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan as key participants in the East-West Transport Corridor, ensuring the safe and efficient organization of international freight transport, as well as expanding the partnership between the Port of Baku and the ports of Kazakhstan.
Special attention was paid to the transshipment of Kazakh cargo through the Port of Baku and its subsequent delivery by rail to Georgian ports or along the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars line to Turkey and global markets. The participants emphasized that such routes improve the manageability of flows and reduce the burden on alternative routes.
Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their shared interest in further developing transit potential and optimizing logistics along the entire corridor.
