Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) Rovshan Rustamov held a meeting with Pakistani Minister of State for Railways Bilal Azhar Kayani. The talks took place within the framework of the activities of AZCON Holding, which manages ADY.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation in the railway sector and discussed the possibilities of expanding it within the framework of international transport initiatives. The focus was on the prospects for increasing freight traffic and developing new logistics routes.
One of the key areas was the discussion of the container transportation project along the Pakistan-Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan corridor. ADY considers this route to be strategically important for strengthening ties between South and Central Asia with access to the Caspian region.
