The Baltic Container Terminal (BCT) in Gdynia, Poland, has become part of MSC’s Britannia Ocean service, connecting Asia with Northern Europe. The new route includes the world’s largest ports: Shanghai, Ningbo, Yantian, Vung Tau, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp and Liverpool. The first vessel to call at BCT was MSC Rose on April 9, and MSC Daria arrived on April 17.

Both vessels, with a capacity of over 15,000 TEU, confirm the terminal’s readiness to receive ultra-large container ships. MSC Rose’s first call in Gdynia alone handled 8,200 TEU. According to BCT CEO Wojciech Szymulewicz, the new regular service will strengthen export transshipments and intermodal transport, reinforcing Gdynia’s role as the deep-water gateway to the Baltic.

Connecting to the global MSC service was an important step in the development of the terminal and increasing its importance in international logistics. Now BCT not only expands its geography, but also gains additional opportunities to attract cargo flows from Asia.
