The joint stand of the Port of Hamburg and Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai focused on the green transformation of supply chains. Rail Baltic Estonia has announced a tender for the construction of the 57 million euro Ülemiste Linda International Passenger Terminal. Designed by world-renowned architectural studio Zaha Hadid Architects, the project will be one of the most modern and sustainable transport hubs in the region. The terminal will connect international rail routes with local transport networks, including trams and buses, and will play a key role in the Rail Baltica project, which will connect Estonia and the Baltic States with the rest of Europe.
The Steering Committee of the FIN-EST Green Corridor Initiative has taken an important step in promoting carbon-neutral maritime transport in the Gulf of Finland by approving a list of 19 joint projects aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of ferry services between Finland and Estonia. The merger into a single entity based at Copenhagen Airport is scheduled to take effect on 1 March 2025 and is supported by local and group management to strengthen the company’s position in Copenhagen while providing stability for employees and customers.
During Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s visit to France, JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and the French company ALSTOM Transport SA signed an agreement on the production of a new freight electric locomotive in Kazakhstan. The document provides for the production of the KZ6A model with asynchronous traction motors at the Astana plant, which will replace the outdated VL-80 locomotives.
