DHL Express invests €40 million in new hangar in Spain.

DHL Express Spain has announced plans to invest more than €40 million in the construction of a new European aircraft maintenance hangar in Vitoria-Gasteiz, strengthening the role of Spain in the company’s global strategy. The new facility is expected to be operational by mid-2027 and will be the company’s second-largest maintenance hub in Europe after Leipzig, Germany.

The ports of Ukraine handled 7 million tons in the first quarter of 2024, which is 1.5 times higher than the previous year. Baltic Hub expands its capacity with a new RMG crane.

Baltic Hub, the largest container terminal in the Baltic Sea, recently launched its fourth RMG crane on July 15th, significantly boosting its annual railway siding capacity to over 800,000 TEUs. Manufactured by Künz of Austria, the new electrified RMG crane is fully operational with advanced features like OCR for automatic container identification, collision avoidance systems, and 11 cameras to aid operators.

Record draft achieved by Ever Greet in Zeebrugge.

Zeebrugge strengthens its status as the North Sea’s leading “deep water port” with the successful docking of the Ever Greet. This ocean giant, 399.98 meters long and 58.80 meters wide, reached a draft of 16.3 meters upon arrival, a record depth that exceeded previous standards by 10 centimeters. The Ever Greet, loaded with 17,989 TEU after a voyage from Sri Lanka, unloaded 400 TEU at Zeebrugge, reducing its draft to 16 meters, and then continued to Antwerp Deurganckdock.
