A year after cargo-partner became part of the NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS group, the companies are combining their transport capacities within the ONE Road project. The cooperation covers Central, Eastern and Western Europe, offering customers flexible solutions for the delivery of groupage, partial (LTL) and full (FTL) cargo. The network is based on cargo-partner’s key hubs in Vienna, Žory, Ljubljana, Zagreb and Sofia, as well as the Nippon Express infrastructure in Western Europe.
The merger has already yielded its first results: fully integrated transportation in Italy, daily connections between Austria and Italy, as well as regular services between Lainate (Milan) and cargo-partner hubs in Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and North Macedonia. In February 2025, direct lines were launched between Poland and NX offices in Italy.
According to Thomas Schledorn, COO for road transport at cargo-partner, the ONE Road project will become the basis for a unified, efficient and flexible logistics system connecting Eastern and Western Europe. The companies rely on their own infrastructure and resources, which allows them to manage transportation directly and quickly close logistics gaps in the region.
