Global logistics and transport provider cargo-partner, part of NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC., is the first in Austria to launch the innovative AutoStore system at the iLogistics Center warehouse near Vienna International Airport. The introduction of automated small-item storage will significantly increase the speed of order processing and rationally use warehouse space.
The AutoStore system, installed by HÖRMANN Intralogistics, will occupy 500 m² of the mezzanine level and will accommodate up to 21,030 containers. Seven robots will automatically deliver goods to employees, reducing physical strain and increasing process efficiency. The project is scheduled to launch in mid-2025, but the first stages have already been completed: in January, the system was activated and cargo-partner employees underwent initial training. The new approach will not only speed up logistics processes, but also support the company’s sustainability strategy.
