Track laying has begun on the Rail Baltica section in the Jonava region of Lithuania.

Track laying work has begun on the Rail Baltica section near Jonava in Lithuania—a crucial stage in the construction of the European gauge (1435 mm). Completion of the 8.8 km of track between the towns of Shvejci and Žeimiai is scheduled for the end of the year. LTG Infra has already purchased 86,200 tons of ballast, 29,500 reinforced concrete sleepers, and 42 km of rails for the project, which will be laid using modern technologies.

CargoBeamer launches new rail route between the Netherlands and Romania.

CargoBeamer, a leading European rail freight company, has expanded its network by launching a new intermodal route between Venlo (Netherlands) and Oradea (Romania). Beginning in late September 2025, this route will operate six round trips per week, with a travel time of approximately 60 hours. Trains depart daily from the Cabooter terminal in Venlo from Sunday to Friday and from the intermodal terminal in Oradea from Friday to Wednesday. The service accommodates both overhead and non-overhead semi-trailers, refrigerated trucks, tankers, ADR cargo, containers, and swap bodies.

Craiss Generation Logistik has begun construction of its new energy-efficient headquarters in Mühlacker.

Craiss Generation Logistik GmbH & Co. KG officially broke ground on its future headquarters in the Ziegelhöhe district of Mühlacker. The groundbreaking ceremony marked the start of the project, attended by company management, architects, designers, Mühlacker Mayor Frank Schneider, and district administrator Bastian Rosenau. General contractor Rommel plans to complete construction by spring 2027, after which all company administrative departments will gradually move into the new complex.

CER Cargo Group has focused on digitalisation and intermodal solutions for the development of European railways.

On September 18, 2025, the Hungarian Railway Conference was held in Budapest. It was organized by the HUNGRAIL Magyar Vasúti Egyesület association with the support of CER Hungary Zrt., a gold sponsor of the event. The forum focused on the future of railways as the foundation of sustainable transport, with a focus on network development and rolling stock renewal. Particular attention was paid to the growth of passenger traffic: in 2024, the MÁV group carried one billion passengers.

CFM and Carpatica Feroviar join forces to develop freight transport between Moldova and Romania.

Calea Ferată din Moldova (CFM) and the Romanian rail operator Carpatica Feroviar Romania signed a cooperation agreement to develop cross-border freight rail transport. The document provides for the intensification of traffic through the recently opened Prut 2-Fălciu border crossing, which will be an important step in strengthening transport links between Moldova and Romania.
