Kazakhstan expands exports and strengthens transport cooperation with the EU.

Speaking at the Central Asia-European Union summit, Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced his readiness to increase exports to the EU for 175 commodity items worth over $2 billion. He recalled that Kazakhstan already provides about 13% of the EU’s oil imports, with the bulk of supplies going through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), the stable operation of which is supported by the EU.

DHL and Temu expand partnership: focus on sustainable logistics and support for SMEs.

DHL Group and the international e-commerce platform Temu have signed a memorandum of understanding, which solidifies the deepening of their strategic partnership. Neptune Logistics strengthens cooperation with Qingbaijiang district: investment and logistics development discussed.

A delegation from Chengdu Qingbaijiang District, led by Li Jinping, Deputy Secretary of the District Committee, visited the headquarters of Neptune Logistics Group to explore the potential for cooperation in the field of logistics. CLdN expands Killingholme terminal and reduces emissions.

CLdN is investing a multi-million pound upgrade at its Killingholme terminal on the River Humber to support the growth of North Sea shipping. The work is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2026. A key element of the project will be a complete overhaul of the logistics processes, increasing the handling and storage capacity of all types of cargo, from trailers and containers to tank containers and refrigerated vehicles.

HHLA and Fraunhofer CML tested a robot to automate rail operations at the Port of Hamburg.

Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) and the Fraunhofer Center for Maritime Logistics and Services (CML) have successfully completed the “Pin Handling mR” project – the development of a mobile robot for the automatic rearrangement of locking pins on container wagons. The tests were carried out under real conditions at the HHLA Container Terminal Tollerort (CTT), where the robot demonstrated its ability to move autonomously along a train and perform tasks precisely using a manipulator.

JSC Kedentransservice and the Chinese Jinhua Group will build a logistics hub in Almaty.

JSC Kedentransservice and the largest transport and investment group of the city of Jinhua (PRC) signed a memorandum of intent to create a modern transport and logistics complex in Almaty. The document was the result of negotiations held at JSC NC KTZ with the participation of the Chinese delegation headed by the Secretary of the CPC Party Committee of the city of Jinhua Zhu Chunlie.

Cirro Fulfillment is strengthening its presence in Europe with the opening of two new fulfillment centers in Spain and Italy. Since January, a 10,000 m² Breeam “Excellent” certified warehouse has been in operation in Madrid. Located in Villaverde, it offers easy access to major transport routes.

HHLA increased revenue and profit in 2024.

Despite global challenges, Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) recorded growth in its financial performance in 2024. Group revenue increased by 10.5% to EUR 1.6 billion, while operating profit (EBIT) increased by 22.7% to EUR 134.3 million. Net profit after minority interests amounted to EUR 32.5 million, significantly exceeding the previous year’s figure.

Emons acquired a strategic stake in LDB Group.

Logistics company Emons has announced the acquisition of a strategic stake in the LDB Group, with retroactive effect from 1 January. The German operator, based in Baden, unites the companies LDB Logistik and LDB Transport and has around 100 employees. The management of the business will remain with the current CEO Thorsten Felmoser.
