Tez Customs automates customs operations on the China-Kazakhstan and TMTM routes.

Global DTC, a member of the PSA Group, together with the national logistics operator KTZ Express, launched the Tez Customs digital platform to automate customs clearance of transit cargo. The solution covers the entire process from preliminary preparation of documents to the automatic issuance of transit declarations, reducing the transaction time to 30 minutes from the moment the cargo arrives at the border station.

Kazlogistics and KSTP signed a memorandum of cooperation.

The Union of Transport Workers of Kazakhstan “Kazlogistics” and the International Coordinating Council for Trans-Eurasian Transportation (CCTT) signed a memorandum of cooperation at the 33rd plenary meeting of the CCTT in Lonavala (India). The event, organized with the support of the Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations of India, was attended by Kazlogistics CEO Kanat Almagambetov.

The IDB exchange between Kazakhstan and China has been transferred to electronic format.

Kazakhstan and China have successfully transferred the process of exchanging foreign permit forms (FPF) to an electronic format. On the night of November 26-27, the system was tested, after which the electronic system was officially introduced. FPF is a key document for international cargo transportation, simplifying the departure of vehicles with cargo abroad.

JSC KTZ Express presented initiatives for the development of TMTM at a round table in Istanbul.

At the round table “Trans-Caspian Connectivity: Experience, Changes and Results” in Istanbul, Deputy General Director for Logistics of JSC “KTZ Express” A.I. Kapar presented the company’s key initiatives for the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR). The event brought together representatives of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey and other countries participating in the TITR working group.

Hannibal launches a new intermodal route in Italy.

On December 3, 2024, Hannibal, a subsidiary of Contship Italia Group, will launch a new intermodal service between Melzo railway station (Milan area) and Marcianise-Maddaloni terminal (near Naples). The train will operate twice a week: from Melzo departures are scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from Marcianise on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Rhenus Logistics opens innovative logistics centre in Switzerland.

In January 2025, Rhenus Logistics AG will open a state-of-the-art logistics center in Möchlin (canton Aargau), Switzerland. The new facility will be a major step towards increasing the efficiency and sustainability of cargo handling in the Basel region, the country’s key logistics hub. The center is equipped with 30 P40 Geek+ robots and seven RoboShuttles, which will speed up the processing of 30,000 containers by up to 70%, while running on clean energy.

DHL and Allegro expand cooperation in the field of e-commerce.

DHL eCommerce and the largest Polish e-commerce platform Allegro have entered into a strategic partnership, integrating DHL delivery into the Allegro Delivery program. Allegro users can now choose convenient delivery options: courier, DHL POP pick-up points or modern DHL BOX 24/7 parcel terminals. This cooperation is aimed at simplifying online shopping and increasing the availability of logistics services for customers.

Metinvest to build a green steel plant in Italy.

Metinvest Group and the Italian Ministry of Enterprise and Production have signed a declaration to promote the industrial revival of the city of Pembino through the construction of a green steel plant. The €2.5 billion project is of strategic importance for Italy and Ukraine, with SACE, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and other financial institutions confirming their interest. The plant, with a capacity of 2.7 million tons per year, will use innovative green technologies, including electric arc furnaces and secondary raw materials from Ukraine.
