The Save Combined Transport initiative warns of the risk of collapse of combined transport in Germany.

Leading companies and industry associations have joined forces in the Save Combined Transport initiative, declaring the critical state of rail freight transport. The initiative was prompted by an open letter to Federal Transport Minister Patrick Schneider and DB management, which states that disruptions on the railway undermine the foundations of sustainable and efficient logistics and lead to long-term consequences for the economy and climate.

Laude Smart Intermodal has launched an intermodal connection with Turkey via Ukraine.

Polish intermodal carrier Laude Smart Intermodal has launched a new connection between Turkey and the EU via Ukraine. The first train of 50 specialized Laude containers departed from the port of Chornomorsk on November 5 with the participation of Ukrzaliznytsia, marking the beginning of a regular route from the Izmir region (port of Aliaga) to Poland with a reduced delivery time of 10 days.

Transfesa Logistics is strengthening its rail transport operations by upgrading its fleet with 200 new wagons.

Transfesa Logistics, the Spanish subsidiary of DB Cargo, is upgrading its vehicle fleet by introducing 200 modern double-deck wagons. This expansion aims to improve transport efficiency on the Mediterranean Corridor and reduce emissions through the transition to more environmentally friendly rail solutions. The new standard-gauge wagons feature an adjustable upper deck, allowing for the flexible transportation of a wide range of vehicles—from electric vehicles to small vans—increasing load capacity and simplifying cross-border operations.

The European Commission will allocate €2.8 billion to develop transport infrastructure in Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Ukraine, and Moldova.

The European Commission announced the signing of agreements for the distribution of Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) grants totaling €2.8 billion, allocated in 2025 for the modernization and expansion of the TEN-T network. Funding will be provided for key railway projects in Romania, Ukraine, and Moldova, including the creation of a standard gauge line between Poland and Lviv (€73.5 million), the development of a corridor from the ports of Constanta and Bucharest to Ukraine and Moldova (€45 million), and the modernization and electrification of the Iasi-Ungheni line (€33 million).

Aviator Airport Alliance has won a major contract from Norwegian to operate flights at Helsinki Airport.

Aviator Airport Alliance, the largest independent ground handling provider in Northern Europe and part of the Avia Solutions Group, has signed a multi-year contract with Norwegian for full ground handling services at Helsinki Airport. Aviator Airport Services Finland, a subsidiary, will perform approximately 4,115 services annually: 56 weekly turnarounds in winter and up to 96 in summer, including passenger check-in, ramp services, and de-icing services.

Ellerman City Liners has acquired Viasea Shipping, strengthening its position in the European short-sea shipping market.

Ellerman City Liners, a GB Global company, announced the acquisition of Norwegian shortsea operator Viasea Shipping from ColliCare Holding AS. Founded in 2016, Viasea has established itself as a flexible and environmentally friendly carrier with scheduled services between the UK, Norway, the Netherlands, Poland, and Lithuania, and offices in Moss, Rotterdam, Gdynia, Klaipeda, and Immingham.

The Eurasian Economic Commission and AD Ports Group agreed to develop cooperation in the field of transport and digital logistics.

Arzybek Kozhoshev, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), held a working meeting in Abu Dhabi with Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, where the parties agreed on a cooperation protocol for 2025–2026. The document provides for the exchange of best practices in transport, infrastructure, and logistics digitalization, as well as a joint exploration of opportunities to establish new logistics hubs in EAEU countries.
