Meeting of KTZ and COSCO Shipping in Shanghai: new projects and strengthening of partnership.

A meeting was held in Shanghai between Yermek Koishibayev, Deputy Chairman of the Board for Logistics of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, and Lin Ji, Vice President of China COSCO Shipping Corporation. The parties summed up the results of cooperation and discussed further development of partnership in the field of transport and logistics services. The Kazakhstan company presented key infrastructure projects that strengthen the country’s position as a strategic transit hub on the East-West and North-South routes.

KTZ and Chinese partners discussed infrastructure development and the creation of new logistics hubs.

During a working visit to China, Chairman of the Board of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy Talgat Aldybergenov held talks with the management of Sichuan Port and Shipping Investment Group (SPSI) and Chengdu International Railway Port Investment & Development (CIPI). Projects to create an international hub Kazakhstan – Xinjin (Chengdu), build grain terminals and agrohubs, and develop warehouse infrastructure were discussed. The Chinese side presented digital solutions based on artificial intelligence to optimize transportation routes.

WEC Lines has updated its services between Northern Europe, Portugal and the Canary Islands.

WEC Lines has introduced the updated NWC Portugal (NWC PT) and NWC Canary Islands (NWC CAI) services, offering reduced transit times and fixed departure days. NWC PT now includes the ports of Rotterdam, Moerdijk, Antwerp, Vigo, Leixões, Setúbal and Montoir, while NWC CAI now includes Hamburg, Thamesport, Moerdijk, Bilbao, Vigo, Leixões, Las Palmas, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Sines.

ELVIS AG warns of crisis trends in German transport.

The German transport sector continues to be under severe pressure amid a stagnant economy, rising costs and increasing bankruptcies. As noted in a new report by the European network of international freight forwarders ELVIS AG for the second quarter of 2025, the expected recovery has not materialized: industrial production in Germany fell by 6.9% in June compared to the previous year, with the sharpest declines recorded in mechanical engineering (-8.7%), the chemical industry (-7.6%) and the automotive industry (-4.8%).

WEC Lines launches new service between Ireland, Belgium and France.

WEC Lines has announced the launch of a direct weekly service connecting Ireland, Belgium and France. The line will be operated by its own 868 TEU vessel on a fixed 7-day rotation, departing Zeebrugge on Thursdays and arriving in Dublin on Sundays. The new route offers faster delivery and increased flexibility for cargo owners, including dry and refrigerated cargo.

AsstrA has opened a consolidation warehouse for a customer in Wenzhou, China.

The international transport and logistics group AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG has launched a consolidation warehouse in Wenzhou (China) to service one of its clients in the footwear and accessories segment. Previously, the company did not have active contractors in this region, so the project was implemented from scratch. At the preparation stage, AsstrA specialists, together with the client, defined the criteria for choosing a warehouse, possible supply volumes and service requirements, including a full range of storage services.

Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and Sichuan Province discussed the creation of dry ports and the development of agricultural logistics.

Chairman of the Board of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy Talgat Aldybergenov held a meeting with the Governor of Sichuan Province Shi Xiaolin. The main topic of the talks was the creation of joint dry ports in Chengdu and on the territory of Kazakhstan, which will expand transport and logistics cooperation and increase the volume of cargo transportation between the two countries.
