Swiss WorldCargo joins the Lufthansa Cargo and United Cargo alliance.

On August 1, Switzerland’s national holiday, Swiss WorldCargo officially became a member of the joint business agreement launched by Lufthansa Cargo and United Cargo in 2022. The partnership brings together the transatlantic cargo networks of the three carriers, enabling them to align schedules, standardize handling processes, and jointly manage cargo capacity.

Klaipeda Port launches southern expansion: start of design work on 100 hectares and acceptance of applications from operators and investors.

The Port of Klaipeda has launched one of the largest projects in its history – the development of the southern part of the water area. Technical designers are already working on engineering solutions for an area of 100 hectares, and a construction permit is expected to be received by the end of the year. The port has officially opened the acceptance of expressions of interest from local and international terminal operators, industrial developers and investors, outlining the expected commercial framework and PPP model. “The southern development is an important step for the port and the whole of Lithuania: it means new jobs, additional income and growing interest from investors. The preparation of technical design is a key and complex stage that requires comprehensive solutions and coordination of interests of many parties, for which we are fully prepared,” said Algis Latakas, CEO of the Klaipeda Port Authority.

KTZ Express strengthens cooperation in developing the Middle Corridor in Azerbaijan.

KTZ Express CEO Daniyar Kozhakhmetov took part in a working visit of the Kazakh delegation to Azerbaijan, where negotiations were held with key partners on the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR). Meetings with the Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan Rashad Nabiyev, the head of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy Talgat Aldybergenov, representatives of CJSC AZhD, JSC GZhD and other structures were devoted to the modernization of infrastructure, expansion of terminal capacities, increasing port capacity and digitalization of logistics.

Drewry: Gemini alliance improves punctuality of Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd flights.

On July 28, 2025, British analytics company Drewry reported a significant increase in the reliability of Gemini Cooperation, an alliance created by Hapag-Lloyd and Maersk. Since its launch in February, the punctuality of its main services has increased from 48-67% to 87-89% in June, which is twice as high as the Ocean Alliance and Premier Alliance on trans-Pacific and Asia-Europe routes.

CLIP Group will build a modern intermodal terminal in Malashevichi.

Container Terminal Mala, part of CLIP Group, has signed a contract with Polish infrastructure company TorKol for the design and construction of a high-tech intermodal terminal in Malaszewicze. The facility, located at the junction of the European Union and Eurasian transport corridors, will be one of the largest logistics investments in recent years in Central and Eastern Europe. Completion of construction is scheduled for June 2026.

Grimaldi Group receives first of seven new hauliers.

The Grimaldi Group has taken delivery of the Grande Tianjin, the first of seven clean car carriers (PCTC) ordered from Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding. The 9,241-vehicle (ceu) vessel, equipped with ammonia and shore power, will be launched on the East Asia – Northern Europe route in mid-August, carrying an initial consignment of 1,000 electric SUVs.

LTG Infra has signed contracts for the construction of key sections of Rail Baltica in Lithuania.

Lithuanian infrastructure company LTG Infra, responsible for the implementation of the international Rail Baltica project, has signed three new construction contracts worth a total of EUR 235 million. The works will cover 10 km of track laying between Switzerland and Žeimiai, as well as 18.9 km of new roadbed from Kaunas to Switzerland. Track installation worth EUR 13.9 million will be carried out by a consortium of Leonhard Weiss International (Germany) and Leonhard Weiss OÜ (Estonia), while roadbed construction is shared between AB HISK (8.5 km for EUR 97.8 million) and a consortium of UAB Fegda and UAB Tilsta (10.4 km for EUR 123.5 million).
