The Port of Szczecin is being updated: investments in modernization worth PLN 245 million.

The Port Authority of Szczecin and Świnoujście SA is the leader in the region in terms of investment volume. Currently, one of the two flagship projects is being implemented in the Port of Szczecin: “Improving access to the Port of Szczecin in the Kashubian Basin”. The aim of the modernization is the continuous development of the ports, increasing the volume of handled cargo and increasing the competitiveness of the port complex of Szczecin and Świnoujście in the Baltic Sea basin.

Record cargo transshipment in the ports of Ukraine in June 2024.

The ports of Ukraine handled 7 million tons in the first quarter of 2024, which is 1.5 times higher than the previous year. The largest sectors of vantage handling were grains, which amounted to 4.4 million tons, and ore cargo, which amounted to 1.2 million tons, which indicates the current growth is equal to the current trend.

Record draft achieved by Ever Greet in Zeebrugge.

Zeebrugge strengthens its status as the North Sea’s leading “deep water port” with the successful docking of the Ever Greet. This ocean giant, 399.98 meters long and 58.80 meters wide, reached a draft of 16.3 meters upon arrival, a record depth that exceeded previous standards by 10 centimeters. The Ever Greet, loaded with 17,989 TEU after a voyage from Sri Lanka, unloaded 400 TEU at Zeebrugge, reducing its draft to 16 meters, and then continued to Antwerp Deurganckdock.

The new tanker ‘Zangilan’ began to operate in the Caspian Sea.

The first voyage of the new tanker “Zangilan”, built at the Baku Shipyard on the order of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO), took place on July 2 with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev. The tanker arrived at the port of Aladzha in Turkmenistan, and on July 17 delivered crude oil to the Sangachal seaport.
