The world’s largest ro-ro LNG ship departs from Shanghai to Europe

The world’s largest Ro-Ro ship powered by natural gas (LNG) begins its journey from Shanghai to Europe. SAIC Anji Sincerity, created by the China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) and operating within Anji Logistics, the logistics division of automaker SAIC, can transport more than 5 thousand new Chinese brand vehicles to Europe. Half of their methods use new energy sources that have a dual system, such as diesel LNG and diesel fuel, which significantly reduces carbon dioxide emissions, as opposed to variable-sized ships.

Turkmenbashi seaport welcomes first cargo ships from Baku in 2024

Turkmenbashi International Seaport in Turkmenistan welcomed the first cargo shipments of the year from Baku, Azerbaijan, as reported by Trend. On January 11, the cargo ship Türkmenistan, followed by the Magtymguly with containers, docked at the container terminal berth. The Caspian Sea route between Turkmenbashi International Seaport and Baku International Commercial Seaport is efficiently served by the Turkmen RO-PAX class Berkarar and Bagtyyar passenger ships, each capable of accommodating 54 trucks and 200 passengers, completing the journey in just 12 hours.

Port of Riga thrives: Record container volumes and cruise passenger influx in 2023

In the past year, the Port of Riga demonstrated resilience with a consistent cargo turnover of 18.8 million tonnes, securing its position as the second-largest port in the Baltic States. Notably, the port achieved a historic milestone by handling over 5 million tonnes of containerized cargo for the first time, marking a nearly 10% increase. Despite a dip in total cargo volumes, attributed to geopolitical factors affecting energy transit cargo, the port celebrated a record-breaking influx of cruise passengers, welcoming nearly 82,000 tourists from around the globe.
