China has started using the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor) to transport trucks. On July 3, the first convoy of 26 trucks was loaded onto the ferry ship “Mercury-1” in the port of Kuryk, Kazakhstan. The ferry belongs to the ASCO maritime transport fleet and has already arrived in Azerbaijan.

Next, the trucks will head to European countries through Georgia and Turkey. This event marks an important step in the development of the transit capabilities of the Middle Corridor, which is gradually becoming an important alternative for transporting goods from Asia to Europe.

It should be noted that in May of this year, China already sent three trucks weighing a total of 80 tons along the Middle Corridor. This shows China’s growing interest and willingness to use this route for faster and more efficient delivery of goods.
