At the Astana International Forum-2025, the Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan Marat Karabayev held a meeting with the Vice President of the French shipping group CMA CGM Ludovic Renou. The parties focused on increasing container traffic and developing the infrastructure of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR).
Since the beginning of the year, cargo traffic along the Middle Corridor has grown by 10%, while container traffic volumes have tripled, and transit from China has increased more than fourfold compared to the same period in 2024. Against this background, CMA CGM is increasing its presence in the region, opening regional offices in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan to coordinate logistics and improve service.
Following the talks, the company and the ministry confirmed their intention to jointly develop the Kazakh sea fleet and expand container traffic along the TITR. CMA CGM, one of the three largest global shipping operators, views Kazakhstan as an important link in the global logistics chain.
