In the first five months of 2025, 78 thousand TEU containers were handled in the seaports of Ukraine, almost twice as much as in the same period of 2024. This was reported by Deputy Minister of Communities and Territories Development Andriy Kashuba, emphasizing the gradual restoration of the container direction.
Despite the positive dynamics, the indicators have not yet reached the pre-war level in 2021. The official named the security situation as the main restraining factor, since most container transportation is carried out by global operators operating according to strict safety standards.
“Ukraine is extremely interested in the return of key international players to its seaports,” Kashuba added, noting the importance of a full restoration of container logistics for the country’s economy.
