DACHSER is fortifying its European food transport and storage network with the acquisition of Brummer, its partner in the European Food Network for temperature-controlled food transport. The acquisition includes Brummer Logistik GmbH in Germany and Brummer Logistic Solutions GmbH & Co KG in Austria, encompassing the entire operational business of the Brummer Group. The deal’s specifics, including the purchase price, remain undisclosed pending approval from German and Austrian competition authorities.

Brummer, a leading food logistics provider in Central Europe with revenue of approximately EUR 128 million in 2023, was founded in 1977 in Neuburg am Inn, Bavaria, and expanded to Austria in 2021. With facilities strategically located in both countries, Brummer optimizes transport capacity and transit times, employing about 950 people in southern Germany and Austria. Specializing in cross-border transport, warehousing, and contract logistics for food, Brummer offers comprehensive solutions for retail and industrial customers, including storage for frozen foods below −18 degrees Celsius.

As a founding partner of the European Food Network, Brummer’s integration into DACHSER’s Food Logistics network further enhances its offerings. With Max Reih continuing to lead Brummer’s operational business, directly reporting to Alexander Tonn and Stefan Behrendt, Deputy Managing Directors of DACHSER Food Logistics, customers can expect seamless service continuity and expanded capabilities within the network.
