DACHSER has successfully completed the acquisition of Frigoscandia AB, a leading provider of temperature-controlled and frozen logistics in the Nordic market. As of today, Frigoscandia is officially a wholly owned subsidiary of DACHSER and is fully integrated into the logistics provider’s Food Logistics network. This strategic move allows DACHSER to expand its Food Logistics network to the Nordic countries, providing customers in the region with uniform quality standards.
The agreement to acquire Frigoscandia was signed at the end of December, with the European Commission granting approval in February. With the completion of the acquisition process, integration into the DACHSER network is set to commence. Frigoscandia, headquartered in Helsingborg, Sweden, boasts a well-established network for distributing temperature-controlled and frozen food across the region, complementing DACHSER’s existing presence in the Nordics through European Logistics and air-sea freight operations.
CEO Peter Haveneth and his experienced management team will continue to lead Frigoscandia, reporting to Alexander Tonn, COO Road Logistics, and Managing Director of DACHSER Food Logistics. With this transaction, approximately 1,300 Frigoscandia employees will become part of the DACHSER family, contributing to a total workforce of around 2,000 DACHSER employees in the Nordic countries. This acquisition strengthens DACHSER’s position in the Nordic logistics market, offering enhanced capabilities and services to its expanding customer base.
