DACHSER has opened a new container freight terminal (CFS) in Waddinquain near Rotterdam, creating a central hub for LCL export shipments. The company consolidates groupage shipments from customers in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland, as well as parts of Austria and Eastern Europe, in its own logistics center in Waddinquain and ships them via the Port of Rotterdam.
Consolidation in its own warehouse allows DACHSER to fully control and flexibly manage this key stage of the supply chain without relying on third-party contractors, which improves service quality. The Port of Rotterdam, one of the largest in the world, acts as an export gateway in the company’s global shipping network, offering regular routes between Asia and America as well as short transit times.
The location of the Waddinquain branch provides a connection to DACHSER’s European road transport network, which facilitates more efficient use of containers.
“Using the Port of Rotterdam as an export gateway, we can offer our customers reliable and flexible logistics solutions on a global scale, with a focus on flexibility, speed, quality and planning,” says Christian Kruse, Head of LCL Shipping.
