The 21st meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Bilateral Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan took place in Almaty. Prime Ministers Olzhas Bektenov and Abdulla Aripov discussed a wide range of issues, including trade and economic cooperation, investment, transport infrastructure, industry, agriculture, ecology and digitalization.
Particular attention was paid to increasing freight turnover and joint projects in the transport sector, such as Darbaza-Maktaaral, Almaty Ring Road and Dostyk station. The parties expressed their readiness to further strengthen cooperation in the water and energy complex, including digitalization and automation of water distribution systems in the territories of both countries.
The Prime Minister of Uzbekistan emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership with Kazakhstan and expressed confidence in the further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation. The meeting ended with the signing of a Protocol recording the results and agreements reached at the intergovernmental level.
