The largest players in express logistics continue to actively invest in infrastructure: DHL Express has launched the largest facility in the company’s history in Finland – a €100 million terminal at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. The new hub, with an area of 16,000 square meters, has direct access to the apron, 90 ramps with charging for electric vans and automated sorting of up to 6,500 parcels per hour and will begin operations in October. The facility is certified as carbon neutral.

FedEx, in turn, opened a global transit center with an area of 25.3 thousand square meters at Istanbul Airport. Sorting capacity here has been tripled to 7,000 parcels per hour thanks to modern automated systems and X-ray scanners with artificial intelligence.

The new hub connects Turkey to the United States, Europe and the Middle East via 30 weekly flights and significantly strengthens the integration of FedEx’s air and road networks. Both projects highlight the companies’ commitment to strengthening their positions in strategically important markets.
