DSV completes the largest deal in its history, the purchase of DB Schenker for €14.3 billion.

Danish logistics group DSV announced that it has received all necessary approvals for the acquisition of German company DB Schenker and will complete the deal by the end of April. The agreement for the deal, concluded back in September 2024, was issued by the European Commission.

The takeover of DB Schenker will double the size of DSV’s business and make it the largest logistics operator in the world. At the end of 2023, according to the A&A rating, DSV and DB Schenker ranked 4th and 5th in the world in terms of revenue, respectively – $22.32 and $22.26 billion.

According to preliminary estimates, the combined company will show combined revenue of $47 billion (DKK 310 billion) by the end of 2024. DSV won the tender for the privatization of Schenker, offering 14.3 billion euros – a record amount for the company.

By comparison, DSV’s previous largest acquisition, Panalpina in 2019, was worth $5.2 billion, while the purchase of GIL in 2022 was valued at $9 billion. The new deal will significantly strengthen DSV’s global position in the logistics market and increase its influence in Europe and beyond.
