Ellerman City Liners, the prominent British shipowner, has expanded its service network by incorporating the Port of Gdynia into its direct route connecting Europe with the West Coast of the USA. This strategic development stems from an agreement forged between Ellerman and MSC last November, allowing the British operator to leverage MSC’s resources and deploy independent vessels for transatlantic connections linking ports in the Baltic Sea region, Scandinavia, Northern Europe, and the Atlantic Coast of the United States.

The newly launched USA Express Enhanced service, a collaboration between Ellerman and MSC, features weekly calls to key ports, including Klaipeda, Gdynia (BCT), Goteborg, Bremerhaven, Antwerp, Felixstowe, Le Havre, New York, Philadelphia, Norfolk, and Jacksonville. The Gdynia to USA route boasts a transit time ranging from 20 to 28 days, enhancing connectivity and efficiency. The inaugural call of the MSC Katya ship at the Port of Gdynia as part of this service occurred in January. Safeguarding Ellerman’s interests in Poland is SAFE Shipping, acting as the Polish agent and a proud member of the European transport group USS United Shipping Services.

Ellerman’s incorporation of the Port of Gdynia into its network in March has proven to be a strategic move, with operations expanding between Hutchison Ports Gdynia terminal and Teesport and Tilbury in the Poland-Great Britain connection, further solidifying Ellerman’s commitment to optimizing maritime trade routes.
