EP Logistics International (EPLI), part of the EPH Group, has announced the launch of a new cross-border rail service, Central European Rail Express (CEREx), which will connect Germany and Hungary via the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The new corridor is designed to provide a stable rail connection between key logistics hubs in Central, Eastern and Western Europe, including countries such as Romania, Serbia, the Netherlands and Belgium.
CEREx will operate on a fixed schedule using reserved routes and controlled border crossing points, which will help avoid delays and increase the predictability of shipments. The service will be an alternative to unstable combinations of road and rail transport from different operators.
The exact schedule and commercial conditions, focused on the industrial sectors of the region, are currently being finalized. EPLI is also preparing to launch a special website with up-to-date information on the new corridor.
