According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, freight transportation volume in the country in 2025 amounted to 322.2 million tons, a 9% decrease compared to 2024. Rail transport accounted for 161.3 million tons (-7.8%), road transport accounted for 125.2 million tons (-2.8%), and other modes of transport accounted for the remainder.
Passenger transportation showed growth: 2,185.7 million people used passenger transport services during the year, a 0.4% increase compared to 2024. Most trips were made by urban electric transport – 1,189.4 million passengers (-0.6%) – and road transport – 932.6 million (+4.2%).
Long-distance rail service carried 28 million passengers during the year, underscoring the stable role of railways in interregional passenger transportation in Ukraine.
