Freightliner PL has launched pilot trips on a new intermodal route that runs through Świnoujście to Sweden, with final destinations in Gothenburg and Stockholm. The trips began after successful tests in November, and regular transportation is planned to begin in early 2025.
As Ryszard Kaczmarek, Director of Intermodal Market Development at Freightliner PL, noted, this mode of transportation is in line with the EU policy on reducing CO2 emissions and allows for a 76% reduction. In addition, intermodal transportation reduces the load on roads and has a positive impact on the environment, reducing pollution and improving life in cities and towns.
The pilot project also brings benefits to customers, who can monitor their cargo using a semi-trailer monitoring system, ensuring safety and transparency throughout the entire journey.
