The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has allowed the German logistics group Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) to acquire the intermodal terminal of Eurobridge Intermodal Terminal LLC, located in the village of Batiovo in the Zakarpattia region. The corresponding decision was published on August 7 on the AMCU website.

The new facility will operate under the HHLA Eurobridge Batiovo brand as a joint venture between HHLA International GmbH and the Ukrainian investment company Fortior Capital LLC. HHLA will receive a controlling stake and, together with its subsidiary METRANS, will further develop the site.

The terminal is located near the EU border at the intersection of key international railway routes of Ukraine, Hungary and Slovakia. Due to the presence of both European (1435 mm) and broad (1520 mm) gauge, HHLA Eurobridge Batiovo will become an important link in the unification of Ukrainian and European logistics networks.
