Huawei Technologies and JSC NC KTZ agreed on a large-scale deployment of the LTE-R network on the Trans-Kazakhstan Railway Corridor. The project will be implemented jointly with Kazakhstani telecom operators, including Kazakhtelecom and TTS. This will modernize the railway infrastructure, improve the safety and efficiency of transportation.

During the meeting in Shenzhen, Huawei CEO Liang Hua and Chairman of the Board of KTZ Nurlan Sauranbayev discussed the results of 2024 and further steps. The companies have successfully completed the modernization of data transmission networks, implemented cloud technologies and conducted pilot testing of the LTE-R standard. The integration of artificial intelligence-based solutions for the railway industry has also begun.

The parties considered the prospects for using industrial robots for track inspection and minor repairs. An important area of ​​discussion was the creation of an innovative educational center in Kazakhstan, the College of the Future, which will specialize in AI technologies.

The companies confirmed funding for key initiatives and agreed on a roadmap for joint projects for 2025. The introduction of LTE-R will be part of the comprehensive digitalization of Kazakhstan’s railways, which will ensure stable and high-speed communications on key routes.
