Eight countries join forces for green port upgrades ADRION.

The ADRIREC – Adriatic Ports for Renewable Energy Communities project, which started on 1 June 2024, aims to transform the ports of the ADRION region into low-carbon energy hubs. With a budget of €1,476 million (85% of which is provided by EU funds), the project brings together partners from Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Greece, Albania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. The project will last for three years.

Tez Customs automates customs operations on the China-Kazakhstan and TMTM routes.

Global DTC, a member of the PSA Group, together with the national logistics operator KTZ Express, launched the Tez Customs digital platform to automate customs clearance of transit cargo. The solution covers the entire process from preliminary preparation of documents to the automatic issuance of transit declarations, reducing the transaction time to 30 minutes from the moment the cargo arrives at the border station.

Port Gdański Eksploatacja expands grain storage and processing capacities.

Port Gdański Eksploatacja (PGE), part of the Gdańsk Port Authority (ZMPG) group of companies, is planning a large-scale expansion of its capacities. The project will include the construction of nine new grain warehouses, which will increase storage volumes to 152 thousand tons per year, almost five times more than the current figures. In addition, the cargo handling capacity will increase from 0.7 million tons to 2.9 million tons per year.

Construction of the Eurasian Logistics Park has begun in the Almaty region.

The construction of the Eurasian Logistics Park with an investment volume of 22 billion tenge ($42 million) has started in the Talgar district of the Almaty region. The new complex will be located on a 13-hectare site next to the Big Almaty Ring Road and will become a key facility in the regional logistics infrastructure.

PKP LHS invests in infrastructure development and prepares for post-war growth in transport with Ukraine.

The Polish company PKP Linia Hutnicza Szerokotorowa (LHS), which operates a broad-gauge railway between Poland and Ukraine, is actively expanding and modernizing its infrastructure in anticipation of increased traffic volumes after the war. Kazlogistics and KSTP signed a memorandum of cooperation.

The first renewable fuel production facility in the Baltics will be launched in the port of Riga.

The first large-scale production of HVO (hydrogenated vegetable oil) and SAF (sustainable aviation fuel) for the Baltic market will be established in the port of Riga with the participation of Ukrainian investors. These environmentally friendly products will help Latvia achieve its climate neutrality goals, strengthen the country’s export potential and reduce dependence on foreign fuel supplies. The plant’s production capacity will be about 236 thousand tons of raw materials per year, of which 93 thousand tons of HVO and 87 thousand tons of SAF will be produced. The project, worth up to 120 million euros, will take about 20 months to implement.

The 300th train along the Trans-Caspian route was dispatched from the Kazakh-Chinese terminal in Xi’an.

The jubilee 300th container train along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) departed from the terminal in Xi’an (PRC). It goes through Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan, and its shipment was organized jointly with ADY Express (Azerbaijan) and Xi’an Free Trade Port (China).

Avia Solutions Group increased revenue by 25% and expanded its global presence.

Avia Solutions Group, the world’s largest ACMI provider, announced a 25% increase in revenue for the first nine months of 2024 to €2.06 billion, and an increase in net profit to €83.3 million. The main revenue sources were Europe (55.1%) and Asia (27.9%), while the Americas, Africa and Australia contributed 15.7% of total revenue. The Group continues its aggressive expansion, launching Thai SmartLynx in Thailand in 2024, acquiring Australia’s Skytrans and planning new operating certificates in Malaysia, the Philippines and Brazil by 2025.
