The Hapag-Lloyd container ship Hamburg Express was christened at the Burchardkai Container Terminal in Hamburg. The ceremony was conducted by Eva Maria Tschentscher. The vessel is one of the largest in the world, along with its eleven sister ships, with a length of 400 metres and a capacity of 23,660 standard containers.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the establishment of the Azerbaijan Transport and Communications Holding (AZCON), which will unite the country’s key transport enterprises. The Transport Ministries of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania, together with the European Commission and with the support of the Technical Assistance Instrument (TSI), have launched a project to create a unified Rail Baltica infrastructure management system. The auction for the sale of the single property complex of the state enterprise Belgorod-Dnistrovsky Commercial Sea Port ended with a successful deal. The winner was Top-Offer LLC, which offered UAH 90 million, which is UAH 100 million lower than the starting price. Logistics company A2B-online has announced the launch of A2B-online Express, a new rail service that will run three times a week between Moerdijk in the Netherlands and Melzo in Italy.
