DHL Express Portugal has opened a new terminal at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport in Porto. The development of Kazakhstan’s ports on the Caspian Sea opens up significant prospects for the country. Lidiya Parkhomchik, a leading expert at the Institute of World Economy and Politics, emphasized that the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) plays a special role in Kazakhstan’s transport strategy. The route connects the ports of Aktau and Kuryk with Baku, providing an important multimodal corridor for cargo transportation. It is expected that in 2024, the volume of transportation along the TITR will increase from 2.7 to 4.2 million tons.
The La Boella Intermodal Terminal in the Port of Tarragona has demonstrated its capacity to handle up to 50,000 TEU per year. This has become particularly relevant due to the temporary reorientation of cargo flows caused by the infrastructure upgrades at the Port of Barcelona, where the gauge change for the Mediterranean Corridor is ongoing and will last until mid-September.
