Dublin-based international aviation holding Avia Solutions Group has placed its first direct order for 80 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, comprising 40 firm orders and 40 purchase options. The deal is a key step in the company’s strategy to increase capacity to meet high airline demand for additional aircraft during peak seasons.

ASCO has presented a detailed plan for fleet decarbonization in line with the updated International Maritime Organization (IMO) Strategy for Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions. As part of the first stage, scheduled for 2024-2027, ASCO will decommission 65 obsolete vessels and commission 17 new, energy-efficient ships. DACHSER has signed a lease for a new warehouse and cross-dock for food logistics in Waddinxwijn, near Rotterdam. The new facility, which will begin operations in the third quarter of 2025, will cover 16,330 square metres, including office space, and will create around 50 new jobs. The warehouse will feature three temperature zones – dry, refrigerated and frozen – as well as 45 loading and unloading gates on three sides of the building to improve operational efficiency.

A new digital pass and access system was launched at the Port of Riga on November 1. Now visitors and freight transport will be able to enter the port only with prior electronic registration, with the submission and verification of documents in digital format. This replaces the previous paper process, making operations more efficient and convenient.
