The Rhenus Group has taken a major step forward in logistics solutions with the introduction of a new Sennebogen 870E hybrid excavator at the Port of Stuttgart. JSC Ukrzaliznytsia and the European Railway Agency (ERA) signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at improving the safety and interoperability of the Ukrainian railway system. This is an important step towards integrating Ukrainian railways into the European transport network in accordance with EU standards.
In the first eight months of 2024, the volume of container transportation reached 1.4 million TEU, which is 1% more than in the same period last year. The total weight of transported cargo was 13.3 million tons, which is 8% higher than in 2023. At the same time, the transportation of loaded containers increased by 6% to 1.2 million TEU, while the volume of empty containers decreased by 26% and amounted to 0.2 million TEU. The bulk of container transportation was accounted for by transit traffic – 916.1 thousand TEU (+6%), while the China/Asia – Europe – China/Asia route demonstrated growth of 16%.

International transport and logistics company Gebrüder Weiss has expanded its network in Romania by opening a new logistics terminal in Popești-Leorden, southeast of Bucharest. The investment in the project amounted to 20 million euros. The new facility complements the existing terminal in Bolintin-Dile, allowing for more efficient distribution of goods in the capital region.
