CargoBeamer has entered the Belgian market and launched a new intermodal service across the Alps.

CargoBeamer, a leading operator of intermodal rail transport for semi-trailers, launched a new regular service between Liège (Belgium) and Domodossola (Italy). The first trains departed on this route last week. The launch of the line marks CargoBeamer’s first foray into the Belgian market, an important logistics hub with a well-developed road and air infrastructure, and strengthens the company’s presence on the trans-Alpine route, following the discontinuation of the Rolling Highway service between Germany and Italy at the end of 2025.

KTZ and China discussed expanding railway cooperation and developing transit corridors.

A working meeting was held at JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy between Talgat Aldybergenov, Chairman of the Board, and Han Chunlin, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China. The parties focused on the further development of transport and logistics cooperation between Kazakhstan and China, with particular attention to increasing rail freight volumes, eliminating bottlenecks at border crossings, and strengthening coordination between the railway administrations of the two countries.

The construction of the third RoPax ferry for ASCO is nearing completion at the Baku Shipyard.

Construction of the third RoPax ferry, commissioned by ASCO, a company managed by AZCON Holding, continues at the Baku Shipyard. The project is proceeding strictly according to the approved schedule and has entered its final stages. The main hull sections have been fully assembled, and work is currently underway on installing piping systems, electrical cables, ventilation systems, and mechanical equipment. Insulation of the living quarters and the construction of the cabin block are also underway.

Ukrzaliznytsia recorded the lowest grain transportation volumes in 10 years by the end of 2025.

In 2025, Ukrzaliznytsia transported 28.86 million tons of grain cargo, a decrease of 27.3%, or 10.85 million tons, compared to 39.71 million tons in 2024. This is the lowest figure in the last ten years. Valeriy Tkachev, Deputy Director of Ukrzaliznytsia’s Commercial Department, released the relevant data.

The main shareholder of HHLA has initiated the procedure for the compulsory buyout of minority shareholders’ shares.

Port of Hamburg Beteiligungsgesellschaft SE (PoH) has officially notified the board of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) of its intention to conduct a compulsory buyout of minority shareholders. This involves the transfer of all outstanding HHLA A-shares to PoH, with the payment of cash compensation. The company is thus initiating a so-called squeeze-out procedure in accordance with German corporate law.

The eurozone manufacturing sector deepened its decline in December, with the PMI falling to a nine-month low.

Manufacturing activity in the eurozone continued to contract in December, according to private survey data. By the end of the month, the eurozone’s industrial sector entered a deeper recession: production volumes fell for the first time in ten months amid a continued decline in new orders. The decline in activity was widespread and affected most eurozone countries.

China has increased exports, and Maersk is adapting logistics to new trade flows.

China’s exports grew by 5.9 percent year-on-year in November 2025, with cumulative growth for January-November reaching 5.4 percent, according to Chinese Customs data. Imports increased by 1.9 percent in November, but still showed a 0.6 percent decline for the eleven months. Despite global instability, China’s trade remains resilient, while the structure of export demand continues to shift.
