Anji Logistics launched the world’s largest car carrier on its maiden voyage.

China’s Anji Logistics, a subsidiary of SAIC Group, has sent the world’s largest car carrier Anji Ansheng, with a capacity of 9,500 CEU, on its maiden voyage. The vessel is heading from China to Europe and is the first in a series of 14 similar vessels, the construction of which was financed as part of a $1.4 billion investment program.

Semurg Invest and AD Ports Group will build a new multimodal terminal in the port of Kuryk.

Kazakhstan investment company Semurg Invest and AD Ports Group (UAE) signed an agreement on key terms for the creation of a new multi-purpose terminal “Sarzha” in the port of Kuryk on the Caspian Sea. US imposes fees on Chinese-built ships and owners – new rules will change global logistics.

The Office of the US Trade Representative has approved new port charges for ships built or owned by Chinese companies. From October 2025, a gradually increasing charge will be applied to such ships: from $50 to $140 per net register ton, and for container ships built in China – from $18 to $33 per ton or from $120 to $250 per container, depending on which calculation method gives a higher amount. Small ships are exempt from charges: up to 4,000 TEU for container ships, up to 80,000 deadweight tons for bulk carriers and up to 55,000 tons for other types.

Polish ports reduced cargo turnover in 2024, with growth only in Swinoujscie and Police.

According to the Central Statistical Office of Poland, the total cargo turnover of the country’s seaports in 2024 decreased by 8.9% compared to the previous year and amounted to 124.2 million tons. The decline was recorded in almost all key areas, including dry bulk cargo and container shipping. The exception was liquid cargo, the volume of which increased by 3.8% – to 55.13 million tons, of which 47.64 million tons were crude oil and oil products.

CLdN increases freight capacity on Liverpool – Dublin route by 25%.

Shipping company CLdN has announced a 25% increase in capacity on its Liverpool to Dublin route, thanks to the introduction of larger vessels. These vessels will be able to carry more cargo per voyage, reducing CO₂ emissions per tonne of cargo carried by up to 50%. The new schedule will see 24 return sailings per week between CLdN’s upgraded terminal at Brocklebank Quay in the Port of Liverpool and Dublin Port.

The facility is of strategic importance – it will ensure a quick response in emergency situations and increase the efficiency of port maintenance. The base is equipped with repair shops, water supply systems for ships and modern conditions for divers, environmental services and crews.
