The Embassy of Ukraine in Baku hosted a meeting between the Secretary General of the Permanent Secretariat of the TRACECA Intergovernmental Commission Asset Asavbayev and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Azerbaijan Yuriy Gusev. During the meeting, key areas of cooperation between TRACECA and Ukraine were discussed, as well as prospects for implementing joint projects for the development of the Europe-Caucasus-Asia transport corridor.

Rhenus Group has launched a new service for the transport of perishable goods in Spain under the brand Rhenus Fresh. This comprehensive door-to-door, temperature-controlled service is designed for the transport of fruit, vegetables, meat, fish and seafood. The launch of the project is connected with the growing demand for fresh produce in Spain, where the efficiency and sustainability of the logistics chain are becoming key requirements.

In Astana, Kazakh Transport Minister Marat Karabayev and Romanian State Counselor Florin Spataru discussed prospects for cooperation in the transport sector. The main topics were the development of sea and rail routes, as well as the digitalization of logistics between the countries.

At a meeting with Christian Roeder, CEO of APM Terminals Poti, Kazakh Transport Minister Marat Karabayev reported a significant increase in transportation along the Middle Corridor in the first nine months of 2024. Cargo transportation volumes increased by 70%, reaching 3.4 million tons, while container transportation tripled to 34.6 thousand TEU compared to 12.6 thousand TEU in the same period last year. Particularly noted was the sharp increase in container transit from China – more than 20 times.

Craiss Generation Logistik continues to expand and has announced a major expansion of its facility in Weiz, Austria. The company is increasing the warehouse space by 20,000 square meters to meet the growing needs of its key customer Siemens Energy. Since the warehouse opened in 2021, Craiss has been offering services in Weiz that go well beyond standard logistics. Construction of the new site began on October 8 with a ceremony.

Vice Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan Talgat Lastayev held a meeting with the Permanent Representative of the European Union to Kazakhstan Aleshka Simkich, where they discussed key issues of bilateral cooperation in the transport sector. Particular attention was paid to the development of transport corridors and infrastructure projects.

On October 10, Kanat Almagambetov, CEO of KAZLOGISTICS STK, and Mr. Kayihan Özdemir TURAN, President of the Association of Logistics Service Providers LojiDer, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the transport and logistics sector. The purpose of the agreement is to strengthen economic ties between Kazakhstan and Turkey, develop trade routes and logistics capabilities, given their strategic position at the intersection of key transport corridors.

KTZ Express JSC signed two important memorandums of cooperation with international partners — BMF Port Burgas and Vision Global Terminal at the 27th Kazakhstan International Exhibition TransLogistica Kazakhstan. These agreements are aimed at expanding Kazakhstan’s logistics capabilities on key transport routes.

The Ministers of Agriculture of Ukraine and Hungary discussed the prospects of creating an agro-industrial hub for processing, packaging and transshipment of Ukrainian products on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border. During his working visit to Hungary, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitaliy Koval held talks with his Hungarian counterpart Istvan Nagy.

The new Duisburg Gateway Terminal (DGT) has been officially opened in the Port of Duisburg, which will be the largest inland container terminal in Europe. The ceremony took place on the former coal island with the participation of the Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia Hendrik Wüst and the Mayor of Duisburg Søren Link. The first construction phase has been completed and the terminal is already operational.
