Aizhan Beiseeva, Transport Corridor Development Advisor for the USAID Central Asia Trade Program, began with the project’s main goal of developing regional trade among Central Asian countries, increasing connectivity, stimulating economic growth, and improving the investment climate. They work with both the public and private sectors to provide technical support to increase trade in new markets and strengthen the Trans-Caspian Route.

Azamat Tokanov, Commercial Director of TRANSLOGICOM LLP, said that transport corridors play a key role in the field of logistics, especially on the territory of the Eurasian continent, as well as in the territories of Kazakhstan and Central Asia. Different corridors have different levels of use and face different challenges.

Daniyar Duisemaliev, Managing Director of TIS SERVISE, spoke about cooperation with the Latvian company Sigis to develop the Railwagon Location service, which currently provides information support for transportation in 19 countries, including the former republics of the Soviet Union, as well as Finland, Mongolia and China. The company is also in the process of negotiations with the Republic of Turkey and other regions. They plan to include European countries in their network in the near future.

Frank Shao, Owner of TIEDADA GROUP, which was founded in 2014 and has been actively involved in the freight forwarding business for the past 10 years, said that amid geopolitical challenges, there is a growing awareness of the safety, efficiency and future potential of land transport.

Kairat Tapalov, Deputy General Director of SMARTLOG, said that their company’s operations cover key territories, including China, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Russia, and their fleet includes more than 10 thousand of their own 40-foot containers and 2 thousand containers under their management, as well as 4 thousands of fitting platforms.

In the first quarter of 2024, Georgia’s foreign trade turnover decreased by 6.5% compared to the same period last year. According to the National Statistics Service (Sakstat), the total turnover amounted to $4 billion 699.4 million, with exports decreasing by 9.3%, reaching $1 billion 325.7 million.

Marat Akbol, CEO of SKYVISION, spoke about key aspects, starting with the role of Kazakhstan in logistics between China and the TIM countries, then moved on to the problems and challenges that they face and possible ways to solve them.

Bulekbaev Berik Raimbekovich, President, Association “Partnership on Transport andLogistics in Central Asia” dedicated his speech to a priority issue – the development of port areas and border hubs.

The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a meeting dedicated to the presentation of projects in the field of transport and construction. One of the key areas of work was the reconstruction of the departure terminal at Tashkent International Airport, which involves expanding opportunities for passengers and increasing capacity.

YEONG Wee Tan, CEO of Global DTC Pte Ltd, spoke about the digitalization of logistics processes along the Middle Corridor route. As a member of the PSA Group, Global DTC focuses on digitalization in Central Asia, complementing PSA’s strategy.
