Baltic Hub, the largest container terminal in the Baltic Sea, recently launched its fourth RMG crane on July 15th, significantly boosting its annual railway siding capacity to over 800,000 TEUs. Manufactured by Künz of Austria, the new electrified RMG crane is fully operational with advanced features like OCR for automatic container identification, collision avoidance systems, and 11 cameras to aid operators.

LTG Cargo, a freight company of the LTG group, has purchased 500 wagons for transporting grain crops, some of which will arrive in Lithuania this season. The new cars will significantly increase the company’s transportation capacity, allowing it to additionally transport about 1.2 million tons of cargo per year. It is expected that the first carriages will arrive in Lithuania in the coming months, the remaining 300 by the end of this year. Another 200 cars will be delivered in the first quarter of 2025.
Ukraine and Poland have entered into an agreement on cooperation in the field of transport, aimed at expanding the network of transport links and infrastructure, especially in the areas of agricultural products, as well as the development of transport corridors, including rail, road and air routes. Regional rail operator from Germany, the former Go-Ahead Deutschland, acquired by the Austrian Federal Railways in February 2024 from The Go-Ahead Group, is now officially renamed Arverio Deutschland. This renaming occurred in honor of the Halo-Roman god of trade and patron of roads and travel, Arvernus, comparable to Mercury, the god of trade.
In the first six months of 2024, 1,724 freight trains traveled along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route in the China-Europe direction, which is 11.7% more than the same period last year. The number of trains increased by 180 trains.
