The hybrid police boat WS1 “Bürgermeister Brauer” arrived in the port of Hamburg.

The WS1 hybrid police boat “Bürgermeister Brauer” was ceremonially welcomed in the Port of Hamburg. After almost two years of construction at the Estonian shipyard Baltic Workboats AS, the vessel was delivered by sea to Germany. The new boat will begin service in the Hamburg Water Police next year.

Kazakhstan is modernizing transport hubs and developing international corridors.

At a government meeting, Vice Minister of Transport Maksat Kaliakparov presented measures to modernize transport infrastructure and develop international corridors. Particular attention was paid to the ports of Aktau and Kuryk, where active work is underway. Construction of a container hub has begun in Aktau, and a new grain terminal with a capacity of one million tons per year has been commissioned in Kuryk.

The Polish development fund plans to acquire the Spanish manufacturer Talgo.

The Polish Development Fund (PFR) has offered to buy out shares of the Spanish company Talgo, which specializes in the production of rolling stock for high-speed railways. The deal will be fully financed by PFR. Talgo’s main shareholder, Pegaso International, has long been considering exiting this investment.

The Riedbahn between Frankfurt and Mannheim will resume operation after reconstruction.

On Sunday, December 15, the renovated Riedbahn railway section between Frankfurt am Main and Mannheim will open in Germany. The first to travel along the new track will be a freight train. The number of trains on the line will gradually increase, and by December 23, the section will be fully operational. Companies located along the route are already receiving freight along the renovated tracks.

Kazakhstan is stepping up efforts to create cross-border hubs.

At a government meeting, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov discussed the development of five cross-border hubs with Minister of Trade and Integration Arman Shakkaliyev. The main focus is on the Khorgos Hub for cooperation with China, the Caspian Hub on the trans-Caspian route, the Central Asia hub on the border with Uzbekistan, and the industrial trade and logistics complex near the border with Kyrgyzstan.

The Port of Riga will invest €64.5 million in the development of infrastructure for the production of wind energy technologies.

The Latvian Cabinet of Ministers has approved an investment of €64.57 million for the development of infrastructure at the Free Port of Riga. The main goal is to create a “green” industrial area to attract offshore and onshore wind energy technology manufacturers, strengthening Latvia’s role in the European supply chain.

The active phase of Rail Baltica construction begins in Latvia: meetings with residents of the Bauska region.

From 11 to 13 December, the Iecava Cultural Centre will host information days organised by Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas and the general contractor ERB Rail. The aim of the events is to inform local residents and stakeholders about the upcoming construction of the Rail Baltica highway and the impact of the project on the Bauska region and its community.

Development of China-Europe route and TMTR discussed in Chongqing.

The 2nd Global China-Europe Railway Express (Chengdu-Chongqing) Partnership Conference, entitled “Connectivity and Open Exchange”, was held in Chongqing, China. Among the participants was Saut Shynybayev, Deputy Secretary General of the International Association “Trans-Caspian International Transport Route” (TITR).
