Rail Baltica has begun construction of a key section in Estonia.

The Rail Baltica project has moved to the next stage: Rail Baltic Estonia has signed a contract with INF Infra for the construction of an 8.65-kilometre section of the main route between Kangrū and Saku in Harju County. The section will pass through the Männiku Bog, where special attention will be paid to environmental protection, and will also include pedestrian and cyclist facilities, such as the Kivitee cycling bridge and the Saunanyi tunnel.

ASCO: heading towards green shipping.

ASCO has presented a detailed plan for fleet decarbonization in line with the updated International Maritime Organization (IMO) Strategy for Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions. As part of the first stage, scheduled for 2024-2027, ASCO will decommission 65 obsolete vessels and commission 17 new, energy-efficient ships. These measures will reduce the company’s emissions by 25%, and the use of ships with greater cargo capacity and fuel efficiency will reduce them by another 9%.

DACHSER to open a new warehouse and cross dock in the Netherlands in 2025.

DACHSER has signed a lease for a new warehouse and cross-dock for food logistics in Waddinxwijn, near Rotterdam. The new facility, which will begin operations in the third quarter of 2025, will cover 16,330 square metres, including office space, and will create around 50 new jobs. The warehouse will feature three temperature zones – dry, refrigerated and frozen – as well as 45 loading and unloading gates on three sides of the building to improve operational efficiency.
