At the TRAKO-2025 railway exhibition in Gdansk, Ukrzaliznytsia JSC and the Polish operator PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe signed a framework cooperation agreement. The document provides for joint actions to ensure uninterrupted and safe train traffic across the Polish-Ukrainian border, as well as the development and maintenance of railway infrastructure.

The agreement covers the organization of train traffic, the maintenance and operation of infrastructure on both sides, and the coordination of key technical parameters. Local cross-border agreements are envisaged for individual sections, regulating timetables, equipment operating rules, personnel requirements, and the possibility of colocating one partner’s infrastructure in the other country.

PKP PLK CEO Piotr Wyborski noted that cooperation with Ukraine is of strategic importance and is aimed at creating efficient, safe, and predictable rail service. According to him, infrastructure modernization will form the basis for the development of freight and passenger traffic and will also take into account the needs of military mobility and strengthening regional integration.
