The logistics group Contargo announced the launch of a new intermodal service, Poland France Shuttle (PFS), connecting Poland and France on two routes: Dourges–Krzewie and Dourges–Kutno. The first route will begin with a weekly service between the LDCT terminal in Dourges and the Miratrans Terminal in Krzewie, while the second will provide regular service across central Poland using PCC’s partner network.
On the Dourges–Krzewie route, containers and trailers will depart on Tuesdays, arriving in Poland on Friday, and in the opposite direction on Fridays, arriving in France on Monday. The Dourges–Kutno route will include a Dourges–Duisburg section with three weekly services and connections to central Poland up to five times a week. Dourges customers will have access to further rail routes to Fos-sur-Mer, Lyon, Marseille, Miramas, Mouguerre, Paris, Perpignan, and Rennes.
According to the company, the launch of PFS, along with the existing Duisburg–Dourges route, will reduce the need for up to 1,500 road freight shipments per month. “Combined transport is the optimal solution for regular long-distance freight flows. The new corridors will help increase the share of environmentally friendly freight between Central and Eastern Europe,” noted Andreas Mager, Managing Director of Contargo Intermodal Solutions.
