DB Cargo Hungária has announced the start of construction of a terminal in Győr, which will become an important element of the region’s modern logistics infrastructure. The project is aimed at meeting the growing needs of freight transport, in particular that of the company’s main partner, AUDI Hungária.
The plan is to build 120 meters of new tracks, a repair pit for locomotives and wagons, and a service area of approximately 1,000 square meters. The expansion will increase the capacity for storing, handling and servicing rolling stock, which will open up opportunities not only for current customers, but also for new partners.
Particular attention is paid to the environmental component: the project supports the strategy of transferring freight traffic to rail and responds to the growing demand in the field of battery logistics. The work is being carried out by local contractors Mérnök-Mátrix Zrt, BetonSped Kft. and SZI-GEO Kft., and the construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025.
