Railways remain the leader in freight transportation in Kazakhstan, with growth of more than 10% since the beginning of the year.

In the first four months of 2025, the freight turnover of railway transport in Kazakhstan reached 111.277 billion ton-kilometers, which is 10.4% or 10.483 billion more compared to the same period last year. Such data was published by the Bureau of National Statistics. This confirms the sustainable role of railways as the main link in logistics in the country.

Road transport also showed significant growth – its freight turnover amounted to 13.828 billion ton-kilometers, an increase of 45.3% compared to last year. Sea and air transport also demonstrated positive dynamics: the freight turnover of the sea fleet increased by 16.8% and amounted to 0.618 billion ton-kilometers, and aviation added 11.6%, reaching 0.02 billion ton-kilometers.

These figures indicate the intensification of Kazakhstan’s transport and logistics sector in 2025 and the country’s growing importance as a transit hub in Eurasia.
